The Lady Heralds fell behind by18 points to Crossroads with 4:50 left in the contest but made a game of it in the final minutes of the 4th. Back to back three pointers by guards Emma Eaton and Joleen Corona cut the deficit to 49-44 with 1:50 left but the Heralds could not catch the Roadrunners down the stretch. Whittier Christian fell behind by 8 points in the 1st half to the hot shooting visitors. Guard Skylar Sherfey carried the scoring load in the first half by hitting two 3 pointers to tally a total of 9 points while forward Aidan Sherfey scored 5 points in the 2nd quarter to help keep Whittier Christian within striking distance. Skylar also had a team high 5 steals many of which helped fuel the Heralds comeback in the 4th quarter. Senior captain Clairessa Watkins scored 6 points and grabbed a team high 8 rebounds in her final game as a Herald. Senior forward Jamee Joseph played an important defensive role in defending Crossroads 6’2″ center and tracked down 4 rebounds. Corona finished with a team high 19 points while Eaton hit two clutch 3’s to finish with 6 points. The Olympic League champion Lady Heralds finished the season at 23-6 just short of tying the most wins in a season of 24.
