All ten Lady Heralds scored in a decisive 72-22 victory over the La Mirada Matadors in the third place game in the La Habra Highlander Tournament. Using a full court press in the first half, Whittier Christian held the Matadors to 11 points while pouring in 46 points on the offensive end. The Heralds were hot from the three point line hitting eleven 3 pointers on 21 attempts (52%). Point guard Joleen Corona led the high scoring affair by hitting five 3 pointers on 7 attempts to score 21 points. Corona was selected to the all tournament team. Forward Jamee Joseph grabbed a team high 11 rebounds (5 offensive). Forward Shelly Vasquez dished out a team high 4 assists while going 5 of 9 from the field to tally 12 points. Guard Emma Eaton drained two 3 pointers and hit both of her free throws to score 8 points. Forward Aidan Sherfey went 3 of 3 from the field to score 7 points. Whittier Christian improves to 6-1 for the season. Next week the Lady Heralds host the Leon Davis Classic and play their first round game on Tuesday December 4 at 7:30 pm against the La Habra High Highlanders.
