Chad Green didn’t feel much like getting out on Tuesday, tallying five hits and leading The Heralds to a 15-3 win over Whitney. Green singled in the first, singled in the second, doubled in the third, singled in the fifth, and doubled in the sixth.
An early lead helped propel Whittier Christian to victory. WC scored in the first on a triple by Matt Pritchard, a single by Wes Ruiz, and a double by Elijah Camarena. The second inning was even bigger with a 3 run home run by Ruiz, a triple by Camarena, and a sacrifice fly by Ryan Helvin, to plate the 5th run of the inning.
The Heralds tallied five more runs in the sixth inning. Green, Helvin, Justin Rohde, and Joseph Salahi-Chung powered the big inning with RBIs.
Eric Subia earned the win for Whittier Christian. He allowed five hits and zero runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking zero. Rohde threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Whittier Christian racked up 18 hits in the game. Green, Anthony McCuller, Ruiz, Salahi-Chung, Aledys Parra, and Camarena all had multiple hits for Whittier Christian Heralds Varsity. Green went 5-for-5 at the plate to lead Whittier Christian in hits.
The Heralds open Olympic League play this Friday at 3:00 pm hosting Heritage Christian.
