Whittier Christian managed through a push by Pacific Ridge in the first inning where They coughed up four runs, but The Heralds still won 12-5 on Tuesday. Whittier Christian got one of those runs back in the bottom of the first on a Home Run by Matt Pritchard.

In the bottom of the third inning, the Heralds tied things up at four, scoring on a stolen base.

Whittier Christian took the lead and pulled away for good with four runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Joseph Salahi-Chung singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run, Wes Ruiz’s sac fly scored another run and Chad Green singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring the final run of inning.

Eric Subia got the win for the Heralds. He went four innings in relief, allowing three hits and one run while striking out five and walking zero. Andrew White threw two innings in middle relief out of the bullpen.

Whittier Christian collected 11 hits on the day with Green and Pritchard each with multiple hits. Green led the way with three hits and a sacrifice fly in three at official bats.

The Heralds finish up pool play in the San Diego Lions Tournament on Wednesday at 12:30 pm vs Yreka @ the Army-Navy Academy.
