Chad Green threw a complete game shutout earning the victory as Whittier Christian Heralds Baseball opened up Olympic League play with an impressive 6-0 victory over visiting Heritage Christian on Friday. Green allowed just three hits, while striking out 8 with no walks.

The Heralds fired up the offense in the second inning, scoring one run when Joseph Salahi-Chung singled and led 2-0 after 2 innings of play.

Whittier Christian put up four runs in the fourth inning. The offensive firepower was led by Parra, McCuller, Ruiz, and Green, who each had RBIs in the inning. Eric Morrison led off the inning with a double to left center and scored 2 batters later on a single by Parra.

The Heralds saw the ball well today, racking up nine hits in the game. Matt Pritchard, Green, and Parra each collected multiple hits. Whittier Christian also didn’t commit a single error in the field.

The Heralds next game is against Savanna at home on Wednesday, March 6th at 3:00 pm as the final game in the Newport Elks Tournament. The next Olympic League is next Saturday, March 9th at 3:00 pm at Valley Christian.
