Whittier Christian continued play in the Nipomo Easter Tournament and came away with a 4-3 victory over Dunn on Tuesday.
In the first inning, Dunn got their offense started when an error scored one run.
Whittier Christian Heralds pulled away for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Brian Greene singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run and Chad Green singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
Greene was credited with the victory for the Heralds. He went four innings, allowing two runs on four hits, striking out two and walking zero. Alex Escobar and Wesley Ruiz entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Escobar recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Whittier Christian.
Joe Hernandez went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Heralds in hits.
The Heralds finish up pool play in the Nipomo Easter Tournament on Wednesday, facing Pacheco at 10:00 am at Dunn.
