In 2016 the Herald Football team joined the fight against childhood cancer in the brand new national campaign called Touchdowns Against Cancer. This was a joint effort between Max Preps and St. Jude Hospital along with many high schools across the nation.
The Heralds went after it hard in honor of Abbey Schemmer (who would have been a senior this past year, but passed away from cancer). It was an honor to support the Schemmer family, and the Heralds rose to the top of the campaign and were the largest fundraiser in the entire nation! The Herald family raised over $11,000 last season and we represented ALL high schools in presenting a check to St. Jude Hospital for over $100,000 during halftime of one of our home games. The Schemmer family was there with us to make the presentation and it was a special night for sure!
The cause is still here, and the Heralds are going for it again! PLEASE JOIN US!!!
Below are two links. One is to our NEW Touchdowns Against Cancer site (TO MAKE A PLEDGE), and the other is a link to the TAC website showing the Heralds as the NATIONAL CHAMPIONS THIS PAST SEASON.
For the coming season the three games that will count toward this effort will be vs. Bell High on 9/15, vs. Stellar Prep on 9/22, and vs. Marina High on 9/29. Every TD we score during those three games will count as dollars raised. READ BELOW AND JOIN OUR FIGHT!
