We’re thankful for the work, practice, leadership and sacrifice that went into your incredible 4-year career at WC. Great job Joleen! WHITTIER DAILY NEWS PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Joleen Corona, Whittier Christian, Sr.
Whittier Christian’s Joleen Corona produced another stellar season that included averaging 15 points, three rebounds and three steals a game. Her contributions helped the Heralds compile a 25-5 record and reach the CIF-SS Division 2A quarterfinals.

The 5-foot 5 senior guard was named Most Valuable Player of the Leon Davis and Ontario Christian Tournaments.
Corona became the third player in the program’s history to amass more than 1,500 points, joining Alana Kempton and Cindy Vyskocil, and finished her career with 1,628 points.
During her four seasons at Whittier Christian, she helped propel the Heralds to four 20-win seasons, four appearances in the CIF-SS playoffs and an Olympic League title.
