Girls Varsity Swimming · Strong WCHS Swim Season Finish With More CIF Qualifiers

While Satan tested us on our way to the meet, with a blown out bus tire, God protected us and gave us the strength to persevere in the water.

Our final meet of the regular season was an Olympic League Meet and WCHS finished a very strong 2nd in team points. Every swimmer contributed to our strong season finish by achieving their best times, some swimming as much as 8 seconds faster than their personal best times.  Sarah Isip had a neck-to-neck race in the 200 Individual Medley, against a Maranatha Varsity boy, pushing herself to drop another 2 seconds from her previous CIF auto-qualifying time, now at 2:14.57.

With speed and strength, our Varsity girls (Abby Blackwell, Sarah Isip, Lizzie Tanklage and Nicole Tiffany) dropped 3 seconds to pull out a CIF consideration time in the 200 Freestyle Relay. We will wait to see if they make the cut and are able to join Sarah Isip at CIF Prelims on May 1st.Last, but not least, we had the pleasure of celebrating our Herald Senior swimmers tonight. We are very proud of all their hard work and can’t wait to see what great things they do in college.
