Maranatha HS and Temple City HS had some fast swimmers, but the WCHS swim team gave them a run for their money.
Our Varsity swimmers (Sarah Isip, Lizzie Tanklage and Zach Soto) achieved some of their best times. Lizzie and Zach had a fun 100 Breaststroke race competing against each other in the water, with a neck-to-neck race the whole way. Sarah Isip finished 1st and qualified for CIF in both of her events; 2:16.11 in the 200 Individual Medley (faster than her 4th place CIF finish last year) and 1:04.42 in the 100 Backstroke (a personal best for Sarah). It was exciting to see their times continue to improve throughout the season.
Many of our JV swimmers competed for the 1st time ever in swim and proved that hard work during practices gives great results in the meets. The swimmers had great dives off the blocks and clean strokes.
Way to go Heralds!
