Boys Varsity Swimming, Girls Varsity Swimming · Magen Isip named as new Herald Swim Coach!

The Herald Athletic Department is proud to announce that Magen Isip will be taking the reigns of the Herald Swim Team for the upcoming 2018 season!

Coach Isip was born and raised in Cerritos, California, where she swam under the tutelage of legendary Club Swim Coach Mark Johnson. Excelling in Breaststroke and Individual Medley (IM), she qualified in several Junior Olympic and Southern California Championships over the course of her 10 year career. She has since served as a USA Swimming Official, while working with Hawaii Swim Hall of Fame Coach, Ken Suenaga. In addition to her extensive swim experience, Magen has coached and/or participated in water polo, track and field, gymnastics, and dance. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance at CSULB and recently celebrated her 23rd year of service at the Happiest the Place on Earth (Disneyland).

Magen is married to Joe Isip, a Height Christian School Teacher and US Army Chaplain. They have taught Sunday School (with students ranging from toddler to adult) at their local church for several years, as well as served Army Families around the Pacific Region (including Hawaii, Alaska, and Guam). Magen loves spending her free time supporting her children, Sarah and Joshua, in their competitive swim journey as well as other activities at WCHS and HCS respectively.
